Jasleen Sidhu
Jasleen Sidhu is a student of Punjabi Sikh descent. She is passionate about understanding the intersection of cultural norms and gender-based violence, especially within a south Asian context. Jasleen has a background in local legislative entities. She has interned for the Sex Crimes Division of the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office and has participated in her city’s youth advisory board, where she served as vice-chair of the Tobacco Use and Prevention Committee. Jasleen is an active member of her school’s Mock Trial program, competing in six international and countywide tournaments. Jasleen aims to pursue a career in policy change and law. Her hope is to challenge cultural justifications for violence against women in global justice systems. In her downtime, Jasleen enjoys embroidery, reading cheesy rom-coms, and writing poetry.
