Executive Directors

Jasleen Sidhu, Marea Bell-Torres, and Mia Kim are the founders and executive directors of Women’s Autonomous Initiative for Abuse (WAIA). Their work in a research-heavy class on acid attacks in South Asia, honor killings in the Middle East, and bride kidnappings in Central Asia inspired them to take action to prevent violence against women of color.
